At Blazing Brilliance, we have four strands of service: (1) professional learning facilitation, (2) coaching & mentoring, (3) communication coordination, and (4) outdoor learning.
Glow & Grow is our umbrella for our outdoor learning. We believe that thoughtful integration of gardens and outdoor environments enhance learning, fosters environmental awareness, and promotes healthy living (both mentally and physically). Gardening and outdoor learning goes beyond establishing gardens on school grounds. It involves designing and developing outdoor spaces that can serve as outdoor classrooms where students (children or adults) can explore science, mathematics, nutrition, cooking, sustainability, and other content in a purposeful and interactive manner.
Camps
For the last three summers, we have created and facilitated Glow & Grow Camps:
- Summer 2023 – Blooming Verses: Planting Poetic Seeds – Youth Summer Poetry Workshop at Brick Street Poetry Neighborhood Literary Art Park.
- Students participated in an outdoor workshop where they learned how to write various forms of poetry culminating with a poetry performance.
- Check out the write up by The Poetry Foundation!

- Summer 2024 – Glow & Grow Summer Camp at Growing Places Indy
- Students worked with farmers, harvested crops, and fed chickens. They also learned about various farming techniques, planned and planted a community garden bed, cooked harvest meals, engaged with guest speakers, and learned techniques to manage their mental health.

- Summer 2025 – Glow & Grow Summer Camp at St. Monica School
- Students engaged in literacy & life science activities, learned simple recipes, helped with planting, and learned about the importance of community.

Classroom
When we coach teachers under our coaching and mentoring strand, we frequently recommend integrating the outdoors into the classroom. Spring 2025, we facilitated ten life science lessons with a group of first graders. Taking learning beyond the classroom walls deepened their knowledge. Watch the video below to view their learning journey.
Clubs
New in 2025 are garden clubs. We launched a twice a week after school garden club at St. Monica School. During this club, students make simple recipes and take care of a garden through planting, watering, harvesting, and weeding.

Adult Classes
We have heard your requests! Once we started sharing videos about what youth were learning, several adults asked if we would offer opportunities for adults or families (parent/caregivers with their children). In 2026, we will share the opportunities we are currently developing. Stay tuned.
