Silenced Stories: Fall Book Club

2024

Sunday, September 8, 2024 – Saturday, November 2, 2024

Stories are being silenced. It is not only through banned books, but it also through books that don’t even get a consideration in the first place. There is no need to ban a story no one includes.

If you are interested in reading three banned novels as well as participating in conversations about banned children’s books, this book club is for you.

Our target audience are parents, educators, and community members. We aim to reframe the banned books conversation, provide resources you can use in your home or school, and help you speak with confidence about silenced stories.

This club includes lively discussions, diverse perspectives, and an unwavering commitment to telling everyone’s stories.

Your literary leaders are Natalie Pipkin and Shawnta Stockton Barnes, who are champions of access to all books and stories.

What You’ll Gain:

– Resources to use at home or at school.
– Accountability to stay the course & read
– A community of people who want to discuss books
